Deep Body Relaxation This 9 minutes meditation focuses on body and letting go of accumulated physical tension through the entire body. It also briefly touches on acknowledgement and acceptance of feelings and thoughts. It may be a useful tool to use if you have become aware of the impact of ongoing stress on your body resulting in aches and muscles feeling tight or locked. It can also be a good practice at the end of the day to deeply relax. It will help you release some of the physical tension and become clearer on what you need to do to look after your body at this point in time. It might even send you to sleep, and that’s ok!
I use meditations and visualizations in sessions when clients are open to it. It can bring rapid relief and have lasting effects that ripple after the session. After the initial unease and once they have tried it, people will often be open to using this tool more regularly.
